This raise and build has completely transformed a 1910 pre-war cottage into a modern day Queenslander family home, and with that comes the dark and dramatic ‘hub of the house’ – the Kitchen. Black Woodmatt cabinetry is the centre of attention sitting abruptly in between the stark white walls. The addition of the Turbine Grey stone benchtops and the timber feature back panel breaks up the room and softens the overall feel of the space. This kitchen may be simplistic but the small features prevail giving it a sense of individuality, including the false panel headboards that mimic the overhead cabinetry doors and lengthen the height of the cabinetry. The curved open shelving that eases the cabinetry into the louvers. The black lip pull handles that discreetly blend in and the thin sleek lines of the island benchtop allow the rest of the cabinetry to shine.
